On the 2nd June, Year 10 took part in a Planet Earth Institute STEP (Science and Technology Enrolment Programme) day on board the DaYang 1 scientific research vessel. This event was organised in conjunction with the Chinese embassy.
STEP is an educational programme which allows students to broaden their knowledge and skills through varied and inspiring study days and events. STEP creates an opportunity for excitement and a new found enthusiasm for science and technology beyond the classroom setting, by stimulating learners through innovative and real-world linking sessions- capturing the imagination of young people in science using creativity rich resources and tailored activities.
This year we just about made it with the weather! It turned out to be a great day, with the winners being Eagles.
On Monday 14th March, the school held an International Day in recognition of the diversity of cultures and nationalities at Northfields and to raise funds for our Model United Nations Club.
Each form class represented one of a range of countries including Mexico, Germany, Brazil, Russia, Egypt, and of course Mauritius.
